My Home Studio Workshop 2024

Every May, I have the privilege of teaching a group of students at my Home Studio for a Shibori Indigo Dyeing workshop. I am always amazed at the beautiful work they create and this year was no exception. I took lots of pictures to share with you!

This year, my class had 10 amazing women from Texas, Washington, Ohio and Georgia.

They did absolutely awesome work!

A wonderful tradition at my home studio classes is hanging the dyed Shibori pieces on the clothesline in my back yard to dry.

And lots of pictures must be taken. These were all from Day 2. So much Indigo Shibori joy!

It's such a beautiful sight and I always look forward to it.

The sun shining through the dyed pieces is just magical!

Using several natural Indigo vats on my covered patio, the ladies enthusiastically tried out many different Shibori resist techniques and loved dipping their gloved hands into the deep, incredible Indigo blue.

These lovely flowers were the result of using my acrylic shapes for the Itajime technique. Click here to see all the shapes I have available. I have them made specially so they're very sturdy.

Lots of stitching created this beautiful Gingko Leaf!

We had such a wonderful time over our three and a half days together and I'm always very inspired by what my students create. Two of the women who came were a mother and daughter from Ohio. They own a quilt shop in Cleveland called Imagine That & More. It sounds like a great shop and I may have a chance to teach there next year!

All in all this is always one of my favorite weeks of the year. Teaching is so enjoyable and I thoroughly look forward to the next time! If you'd like to see where I'll be next, click here for my calendar. I'd love to see you in class!
